Publication Fees for Gender Medicine
As of July 1, 2009, the expenses inherent in the publication of this journal, including peer review, copyediting, layout, printing, postage, and online hosting/archiving, will be recovered in part by assessing publication fees to the authors or research sponsors of each article.
Waivers or Fee Reductions
The ability to pay the fee does not influence decisions regarding the acceptance of a paper, which is solely dependent on the peer-review process. Authors who do not have funds to cover publication fees are eligible for complete or partial fee waivers. For consideration, the corresponding author should submit a detailed reason for applying for a waiver, cosigned by an appropriate institutional official to verify that no grant funds are available for the payment of page charges. Elsevier reserves the right to reschedule any reduced- or waived-fee articles, should it be necessary.
Schedule of fees for papers submitted after July 1, 2009:
Manuscript submission fee: $40
On sending submission, please fax a completed payment form. Papers cannot enter the review process until the fee is received.
Express Track submission fee: $500
To cover the cost incurred for expedited review, you will be charged one fourth ($125) of the fee on receipt of your submission. If your paper is rejected, there will be no further charges; however, if it is accepted, the remainder of the fee is assessed on publication.
Color illustrations: invoiced at cost
During the submission process, authors must confirm that they agree to pay the color production fee.
Page charges: $75/page for the first 7 printed pages and $125 for each additional printed page.
Publication charges are due on receipt of the publisher’s invoice. Acknowledgment of funding source should be included in the manuscript.
